A rustic
northern retreat where you will encounter life's joys, nature's
beauties, and the relaxing disconnect of getting away from it
all.
The Lodge is a historic, award-winning casual family-style B&B
on the shores of Houghton Lake, Michigan's largest inland body of
water. This rustic building has its own private sandy
beach. The grounds are spacious and are sheltered by many tall
pines. Many have likened the Lodge to a large home with 27
charming bedrooms and a unique recreational Great Room.
Activities and area attractions include: swimming, boating,
lounging, novice to championship golfing, ORVing, snow-mobiling,
fishing, hunting, mushrooming, canoeing, shopping, dining and much,
much more!!
Each year, the Lodge welcomes families, couples, and organizations who
crave the lost art of hospitality in their travels. You are
invited to become part of a vacation experience that is grounded in
camaraderie. Some guests may choose to read quietly by the lake,
others may spend the day swimming or fishing, still others may sleepily
relax on the beach and come to life later at the campfire.
Children look forward to organized games during the summer.
Whatever their passion, each guest finds a home under the Lodge's tall
pines, and builds relationships with others who have chosen this unique
haven from modern life. We invite you to experience this special
place where hospitality swells and friendships come to life.
Lorrie & Randy are only the fourth owners in the Lodge's long
history. Beginning in 2004, they began welcoming guests to East
Bay Lakefront Lodge. For the twenty-three years previous to
that, it was known as Shea's Lodge, owned by Bob & Laura
Shea. The lodge began as Johnson's Rustic Resort in 1925,
then Oliver's Resort, then Shea's in 1981.
